If you're a fan of old-school horror or more contemporary subversions, you're going to like today's sequel news:

  • Phantasm V: Ravager may be debuting much sooner than expected, with Don Coscarelli at the helm, and stars Reggie Bannister and Angus Scrimm returning.  We also have what looks to be the first teaser poster from the film to share with you.
  • During a panel at this past weekend's HorrorHound Weekend in Cincinnati, Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil stars Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine announced that they're already at work on a sequel.

Hit the jump for more on both pictures.

First reported by AICN and then followed up on by BD, it looks like the fifth Phantasm film is closer to the screens that many expected.  Little has been revealed about the film, besides the following teaser poster.  The original 1979 film "followed a young boy and his friends who must face off against a mysterious grave robber known only as the Tall Man (Scrimm), who keeps a mysterious arsenal of terrible weapons with him."  Official news is expected in the next day or so.  In the meantime, check out the teaser poster below:
