The entire world is abuzz with the passing of innovative Pixar and Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. For those looking to remember him fondly, TNT is airing their TV movie chronicle Pirates of Silicon Valley which follows the fascinating and unforgettable race between technology rivals Apple Computer and Microsoft. From nights of dorm-room tinkering to days of boardroom scheming, their fierce and often humorous battle to rule the fledgling computer empire literally changed the world. Anthony Michael Hall plays Bill Gates while ER and Falling Skies star Noah Wyle plays Jobs in a performance that the man loved so much that he even had the actor take the stage as himself at an Apple event some years back. You can see a video of that great appearance after the jump along with a statement from Wyle on Jobs' passing, and be sure to tune in at 8/7c and again at 10/9c tonight for the special presentation of Pirates of Silicon Valley.
Here's the Wyle had to say about the passing of Steve Jobs:
"My condolences and thoughts are with his family who will certainly miss him most as a husband and father.
Portraying him in "Pirates of Silicon Valley" was as challenging and as fulfilling of a role as I will have in my career. I had the honor of meeting him shortly after the movie aired and was struck by his sincerity and self-deprecating sense of humor.
We have lost a visionary whose innovations will continue to impact our society forever."
