We have some aca-awesome news for you, if you’re excited about seeing Pitch Perfect 3 two weeks earlier. The third of installment of the franchise, which will feature the return of your favorite Barden Bellas for another round of a cappella shenanigans, has been bumped out of its release of August 4, 2017 and up to the July 21 slot of the same year.

Universal Pictures announced the news today, and this’ll likely yield a better run for the film, which will now open closer to the heart of the summer season. Funny enough, July 21, 2017 was its initial release date before Universal moved it to August — and now it’s back!

Elizabeth Banks, who features as a cappella commentator Gail and directed Pitch Perfect 2, returns to helm the third film. Among the cast, Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson are the only two officially confirmed for comebacks, though the past two films also featured Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, Chrissie Fit, Anna Camp, Hailee Steinfeld, Adam DeVine, and Skylar Astin.

Details on Pitch Perfect 3 are still under wraps and Banks didn’t want to let anything slip during an interview with Collider earlier this year. Although, she said she's excited to determine who the big cameos will be this time around. The last sequel featured real-life a cappella groups like Grammy-winning Pentatonix, Sons of Anarchy’s Katey Sagal, Snoop Dogg, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, and Green Bay Packers linebacker Claw Matthews.

One likely source for expansion seems to be Steinfeld’s Emily, the newly minted Bella who finished the film by collaborating with Kendrick’s Beca on her song, “Flashlight.” Then there’s the continuation of the saga of Fat Amy, who poured her heart out to Bumper, while Snow’s Chloe promised to finally graduate college.

With an estimated $29 million budget, Pitch Perfect 2 went on to score a worldwide total of $287.5 million at the box office. So, clearly, there’s an audience here.
