Now that production is officially underway on AMC's Preacher, Seth Rogen has released a first look image of Dominic Cooper (Agent Carter) as Jesse Custer and Ian Colletti (Rake, Jimmy, Baby Mama )as Arseface. Rogen and Evan Goldberg are directing the pilot from their own script for the new series based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon‘s beloved ’90s comic.

Cooper heads up the cast as Jesse Custer, a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven, and develops the ability to make anyone do what he says. Joseph Gilgun (This Is England) plays Cassidy, an Irish Vampire, alongside Colletti's Arseface and Ruth Negga (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Tulip. Breaking Bad writer Sam Catlin will showrun the series, with Rogen and Goldberg producing through their Point Grey banner, along with Neal Moritz’s Original Film. The Preacher pilot is currently in production for a series consideration in 2016. Here’s the official synopsis from AMC:

Based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s twisted ’90s comic book series, “Preacher” is about Jesse Custer, a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, the three embark on a journey to literally find God.
