The unintentionally hilarious trailer for Priest has gone online.  I challenge you not to giggle at the deadly-serious tone, the crappy-CGI vampires, or lazy scares.  While I'm a huge Paul Bettany fan, the dude needs a hit.  The only positive in the trailer is it looks like Karl Urban is having way too much fun.  I want this flick to be better than the wretched Legion, Bettany's last collaboration with director Scott Charles Stewart, but this trailer doesn't give me a lot of hope.

Here's the official synopsis for Priest:

Set for release in spring 2011, this Screen Gems thriller is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi ride, set in an alternate world – one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on a quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend, a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.  Directed by Scott Charles Stewart and written by Cory Goodman along with Min-Woo Hyung from the graphic novel series “Priest”, PRIEST stars Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Lily Collins, Brad Dourif, Stephen Moyer, and Christopher Plummer.
