With “Punisher: War Zone” opening on December 5th, we’ve been given some movie clips, TV Spots, trailers and behind the scenes footage for you to watch. While we‘ve all heard the negative buzz surrounding the movie…I’ll love to be proven wrong and have this new “Punisher” movie kick tons of ass. Also, I’m a big fan of Ray Stevenson from HBO’s “Rome” and would love for him to succeed in his first starring role.

That being said, I think this film has way too many obstacles to overcome for mainstream success.

The big problem for any “Punisher” movie is the basic concept of the character. We’ve all seen the one man army kicking ass in countless movies. What makes “Punisher” any different from any of those films? He doesn’t have any powers like a typical Marvel Character….and while that was cool in the 80’s…. it’s just not what people want to see now. They like super-powers…

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe director Lexi Alexander has found a cool, new way to showcase Frank Castle and make him interesting. I hope so.

Anyway, here is the synopsis and the clips. Take a look:

In the film, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle wages his one-man war on the world of organized crime and sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the "Punisher Task Force" hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.
