Wednesday evening’s TV ratings are in.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • NBC’s series premiere of the Chicago Fire spinoff Chicago PD got off to a good start (read Allison’s review here), hitting a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and scoring 8.56 million viewers.  Additionally, Revolution returned up 14% from its last episode to a 1.6 rating and 6.05 million viewers, and Law & Order: SVU rose 31% to a 2.1 rating and 8.85 million viewers in its midseason premiere.
  • Over on ABC, The Middle garnered a 2.2 rating and 8.77 million viewers for a rise of 10%, new comedy series Super Fun Night dropped 17% to a series low 1.5 rating and 4.89 million viewers, and Modern Family was even with its last original episode’s 3.5 rating and scored 9.54 million viewers.
  • CBS’ broadcast of the People’s Choice Awards notched a 2.3 rating and 10.18 million viewers, which is down 15% from last year’s broadcast and marks the awards show’s lowest ratings in six years.
