TV ratings for Thursday, October 2nd have arrived.  Briefly:

  • ABC’s Scandal topped the night in the 18-49 demo for scripted programming with a 3.3 rating and 10.41 million viewers, down 15% from last week’s series high.  Read Allison's recap here.  The delicious new drama How to Get Away with Murder did slightly less in the demo, but scored more overall viewers with a 3.2 rating and 11.76 million viewers.  That’s down 18% from last week’s series premiere, but still very strong.  Grey’s Anatomy, meanwhile, dropped 16% to a series low 2.6 rating and 9.07 million viewers.
  • Fox’s limited event series Gracepoint (a remake of the excellent BBC series Broadchurch) debuted quite low with a 1.2 rating and 4.83 million viewers.  Read Allison's recap here.  Additionally, Bones was down 6% from last week with a 1.5 rating and 6.3 million viewers.
  • Over on NBC, the series premiere of Bad Judge garnered a fairly low 1.3 rating and 5.86 million viewers, while the series premiere of A to Z didn’t fare much better with a 1.2 rating and 4.81 million viewers.  Parenthood earned a series low 1.3 rating and 4.36 million viewers.
  • The CW’s season premiere of The Vampire Diaries was down 25% from last year with a 0.9 rating and 1.78 million viewers, while Reign’s premiere was down 50% for a 0.4 rating and 1.05 million viewers.
