And just like that, there’s a new John Cusack movie.  Technically, Reclaim seems to focus more on the beleaguered would-be parent characters of Ryan Phillippe and Rachelle Lefevre, but there’s do denying the fact that Cusack is now a prolific master of the surprise attack.  The film, which I hadn’t heard of before today, also boasts Luis Guzman and Jacki Weaver among its cast.

Reclaim was directed by Alan White from a script by Luke Davies and Carmine Gaeta and I can’t say I’m terribly blown away.  It looks serviceable, but flat.  The kind of movie that pretty much defines the mid-level tier of the annual AFM market.  Still, it could end up being something of an ironic classic if it contains a few more lines in the vein of, “you bought our daughter on the black market?”  Hit the jump for the Reclaim trailer!  The film opens in limited theaters and On-Demand this September 19th.

Here’s the official synopsis:

After their newly adopted daughter goes missing in a small town, Steven and Shannon will stop at nothing to uncover the truth behind her disappearance and the dangerous secret behind the adoption agency they trusted.  Risking their own lives, they will discover just what being a parent means and how far they will go to get their child back.
