Sony Pictures Classics has released the first Red Army trailer online.  Gabe Polsky's documentary focuses on the importance of hockey in the Soviet Union and the extreme lengths the communist country went to hold on to its valuable players, who represented a key part of the USSR's propaganda machine.  I saw the film at the Toronto International Film Festival last week, and it was one of the best movies I saw at the fest.  While I think ESPN's 30 for 30 is great, I'm glad this movie is going to theaters because it's a riveting tale with an epic scale when you consider that the USSR considered it a key factor in the Cold War to the point where players were literally soldiers.
