Production is in full swing on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, director Paul W.S. Anderson’s final installment in his hugely successful Resident Evil franchise, and the cast is absolutely bombing social media with behind-the-scenes looks. The Final Chapter reunites series stars Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter as the ass-kicking heroines Alice and Claire Redfield. The pair will reportedly be joined by returning castmembers Wentworth Miller as Claire’s brother Chris, and Iain Glen‘s nefarious Dr. Issacs (though they care conspicuously absent from the on-set photos), as well as newcomers Shawn Roberts, Orange is the New Black breakout Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James, and Japanese model and personality, Rola.
For The Final Chapter, the franchise is heading back to its roots, picking up immediately after Resident Evil: Retribution in Alice’s quest to stop the Red Queen from eliminating the few human survivors. The Final Chapter is currently filming in Cape Town, South Africa, and since the last time we checked in, the cast has shared a fuckton of new photos from the set. The new pics give us an even better look at the costumes, locations, sets, and weaponry, but mostly they tell us that this cast really, really loves to instagram, which you can witness for yourself in the images below.

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.
In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.
