Opening in theaters and on VOD this Friday is Computer Chess filmmaker Andrew Bujalski’s new film Results, and in anticipation of the release we at Collider are happy to bring you an exclusive new clip from the comedy. The film stars Kevin Corrigan as a recently divorced, newly rich, and miserable man who seeks out a personal trainer with the goal of being able to “take a punch.” He subsequently crosses paths with a local gym owner (Guy Pearce) and a job-obsessed trainer (Cobie Smulders), and the three strike up a tense, strange, and dynamic relationship.

This new clip shows the first meeting between Corrigan and Pearce’s characters, as the trainer tries to suss out what Corrigan’s personal goals are in terms of fitness. The scene portrays the tone of the film quite well, which is a mix of odd, charming, and funny.

Watch the clip below. The film also stars Anthony Michael HallBrooklyn DeckerGiovanni Ribisi, and Constance Zimmer and expands to Los Angeles and other theatrical markets on June 5th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Results:

Recently divorced, newly rich, and utterly miserable, Danny (Kevin Corrigan) would seem to be the perfect test subject for a definitive look at the relationship between money and happiness. Danny’s well-funded ennui is interrupted by a momentous trip to the local gym, where he meets self-styled guru/owner Trevor (Guy Pearce) and irresistibly acerbic trainer Kat (Cobie Smulders). Soon, their three lives are inextricably knotted, both professionally and personally.
