Netflix has just released a new trailer for Return to Space, a new documentary that follows the revitalization of space exploration by SpaceX through the trials that go along with launching into space. The new trailer comes several weeks before the documentary's release, which is set for April.

The new documentary follows the controversial billionaire Elon Musk as he works to bring America's vision of space exploration back to life. The documentary will cover the rise of Musk's SpaceX project and the challenges faced by the team that worked to make Musk's celestial ambitions a reality. The documentary offers access to the first crewed mission launched in the United States since the Space Shuttle was retired in 2011. The documentary follows several NASA veterans as well, including Bob Behnken, Doug Hurley, as well as their families as they prepare for the much-anticipated launch. Return to Space will also bring audiences to the International Space Station as well as to mission control with Musk and his team as they work from Earth to bring the astronauts back to earth.

The film is directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, who both took home an Oscar for their work on the documentary Free Solo, a documentary that followed the intense world of free solo climbing, in which climbers scale rock walls without the safety of a rope or harness. The film particularly focused on free solo climber Alex Honhold's climb of the famous El Capitan rock formation in Yosemite National Park in 2017.

Their new film, like Free Solo, also follows a project that pushes the boundaries of human accomplishment. However, this project, that of revitalizing space exploration, raises the stakes to a new level. Along with the new trailer, a new poster for the film was also released. The new poster shows Elon Musk in profile, looking into the sky, alongside a rocket launch. The poster is quite dramatic in a striking black and white, highlighting the trailblazing nature of the film and its subject. The poster and trailer certainly add to Musk's reputation as both an entrepreneur and trailblazing force in scientific exploration.

Return to Space will be released exclusively to Netflix on April 07, 2022. Until then, you can watch the brand-new trailer below.
