Lucasfilm has released a new Rogue One international trailer. or those unfamiliar with Rogue One, the story takes place before the events of A New Hope and centers on a group of rebels who are sent to retrieve the plans for the Death Star. They are led by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) whose father (Mads Mikkelsen) was forced by the Empire to build the destructive space station.

It’s funny how a national election with a horrific outcome will suddenly make the line, “Rebellions are built on hope,” feel far more rousing and immediate, but here we are. I don’t know if the national mood will change the box office results for Rogue One, but I can definitely see how this film might resonate more now with certain audience members. Also, there’s a few more seconds of Darth Vader footage, so we can all get behind that.

Check out the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story international trailer below. The film opens December 16th and also stars Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, and Forest Whitaker.
