If you’re bummed about not being able to make the trip to London for this year’s Star Wars Celebration Europe, I’ve got some good news. It was announced today on StarWars.com that The Star Wars Show will be streaming live from Star Wars Celebration next weekend, which includes a full livestream of the special Rogue One: A Star Wars Story panel on July 15th during which Kathleen Kennedy and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards will discuss the highly anticipated (and first) Star Wars anthology film, as well as debut the new trailer.
This is not exactly groundbreaking news—they also offered a livestream of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel at the previous Star Wars Celebration given the intense interest in the film. But it is very nice to know that we’ll all be able to enjoy the discussion between Edwards and Kennedy as it happens live, with StarWars.com noting that the panel will also include special guests—my money’s on at least a Felicity Jones appearance.
The Star Wars Show LIVE will be streaming all throughout Star Wars Celebration, which runs from Friday, July 15th through Sunday, July 17th, featuring interviews with Star Wars creators, must-see panels, and more. It’s not specified whether they’ll also be providing a livestream of Sunday’s “Future of Star Wars” panel that will include Episode VIII director Rian Johnson, Han Solo spinoff directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and Kennedy, but here’s hoping.
The Rogue One panel begins on July 15th at 11 am ET/8am PT, and you can check back here on Collider to watch the livestream and for a full rundown of highlights directly after the panel ends. Collider’s own Perri Nemiroff is attending the full Star Wars Celebration weekend so we’ll also have plenty of updates from the ground floor as well, so stay tuned!
