A new trailer for Salmon Fishing the Yemen has gone online. The film centers on a fishing expert (Ewan McGregor) and PR consultant (Emily Blunt) who are thrown together to bring salmon fishing to the Yemen at the behest of a sheik (Amr Waked) and the Prime Minister’s press secretary (Kristin Scott Thomas). I wasn’t bowled over by the first trailer, but I feel this cut is much more effective. The goofiness and emotionality both come on strong, and I feel like I’d enjoy spending two hours with these characters. Matt caught the flick at the Toronto Film Festival and found it surprisingly witty and funny, so I’m looking forward to checking it out once it hits theaters.Hit the jump to watch the trailer. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen opens March 9th.Click over to Yahoo! to watch in HD.

Here’s the official synopsis for Salmon Fishing in the Yemen:

A visionary sheik has a big dream — to bring salmon fishing to the desert. Willing to spare no expense, he instructs his representative to turn his dream into reality, an extraordinary feat that will require the involvement of Britain’s leading fisheries expert who happens to think the project both absurd and unachievable. That is, until the Prime Minister’s overzealous press secretary latches on for its potential as a ‘good will’ story. Now, this unlikely team will put it all on the line and embark on an upstream journey of faith and fish to prove the impossible, possible.
