Sony Pictures has released an extended Sausage Party TV spot. The upcoming R-rated animated comedy lampoons the work of Pixar, and follows a group of food that learns the horrible truth about their fate. Armed with this new knowledge, they may their way back to the supermarket to warn their fellow food.

Judging by the trailers, there’s really only one joke to Sausage Party, which is that food is going to “die” in horrific fashion. It will be peeled, sliced, ripped, grated, and so forth. And yet that’s a pretty funny premise for a movie, and so if that’s all that Sausage Party is during its runtime, I can live with that. This new extended TV spot definitely got some laughs out of me, and there was even a non-food-death related joke concerning hot dogs and hot dog buns, so that’s encouraging.

Check out the new Sausage Party extended TV spot below. The film opens August 12th and features the voices of Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton, and Salma Hayek.
