Sure, American Horror Story has hit some particularly rough patches, but I still do admire Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s propensity to go big in the horror department and definitely have my eye on their upcoming anthology series, Scream Queens. The 15-episode, hourlong comedy is due to premiere on Fox this fall and will center on a college campus hit with a series of murders.

That’s really all we’ve got in terms of plots details right now, but the show has amassed quite the cast. We’ve got Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Joe Manganiello, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, Billie Lourd and Skyler Samuels who you might remember from the first few episodes of American Horror Story: Freak Show. She played Bonnie Lipton, the young woman who was kidnapped by Twisty.

That’s a pretty epic cast right and it’s bound to draw a crowd, but the big question is, will Murphy and Falchuk actually do something with it and go beyond the flashy concept of a comedy about a college slasher? Of course I’d like to hope so, but with how things wrapped up on Freak Show, there’s definitely concern that this thing could be all spectacle and no meaty material.

However, based on this very first Scream Queens teaser, it looks like the duo will probably let the blood flow. In honor of Friday the 13th, the folks behind the show posted a very brief promo and while it doesn’t say anything at all about the story or characters, perhaps it is teasing the tone and types of kills we’re in for.
