Screenwriter Dustin Lance Black Exclusive Video Interview

The other night I was able to interview a bunch of people on the red carpet of the Hollywood Awards in Beverly Hills and the interview below is with screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.

While you most likely don’t know who Dustin is yet, he’s the screenwriter of director Gus Van Sant’s new movie “Milk,” so he’s probably going to be someone you hear of down the road.

That’s because “Milk” was a great movie (click here to read my initial thoughts).

Anyway, while talking to Dustin about Milk, I asked him what he had coming up next and he said he’s teaming up with director Gus Van Sant (again) on a movie version of Tom Wolfe’s very famous 1968 book The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test!

While I think turning that book into a movie is going to be incredibly difficult, if he manages to crack the code and find a structure to tell the story…this could be one cool trip….

Anyway, here’s Dustin. And look for more interviews on Milk in the coming weeks.

Dustin Lance Black

  • Is it weird for him to be walking the red carpet as he’s new to all this
  • What was it like on set and seeing these amazing actors say his lines
  • I ask if his lunch meetings are a little different now after getting Milk made
  • Says he is working with Gus Van Sandt again and working on an adaptation of Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. I try and find out what kind of adaptation it’s going to be….
