Last week I landed an exclusive video interview with Sean Bean to talk about his work in the Wachowski’s newest film, Jupiter Ascending. As you’ve seen in the trailers, the story centers on Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), a Russian immigrant who scrubs toilets for a living until she discovers she has the genetic signature that makes her next in line to own Earth. Channing Tatum plays a genetically engineered ex-military hunter tasked with tracking her down with the help of Bean’s character. The film also stars Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, James D’Arcy, Tim Pigott-Smith, and Doona Bae. As you can imagine, the film is loaded with incredible action and insane visual effects.
During the interview, Bean talked about being part of a big sci-fi spectacle, what it was like working with the Wachowskis, when he realized he won the “actors lottery” in terms of the big productions he’s been part of like Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, and future projects like Ridley Scott’s The Martian and Pixels.
