A new character trailer has been revealed today by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment for the upcoming  The Secret Life of Pets 2. As we reported last spring, director Chris Renaud and writer Brian Lynch have reprised their duties for this sequel, whose original grossed $875 million worldwide ($104 million was also garnered in just its opening weekend).

The new trailer introduces Rooster, voiced by Harrison Ford, a very no-nonsense dog who has no time for the neuroses of our protagonists. The trailer also gives a glimpse into the movies silly and familiar take on animal behaviors, especially as the dogs are let loose on a farm (so many smells and new friends!)

Original cast members Jenny SlateEric StonestreetEllie Kemper, Dana CarveyHannibal Burress, and Bobby Moynihan are all returning for the follow-up, and new character trailers are expected to be revealed each month. New cast members also include Nick Kroll and Pete Holmes.
