HBO has released the trailer and poster for Mindy Kaling’s next project The Sex Lives of College Girls. Kaling is an Emmy-award-winning producer and writer, best known for her work on The Office, The Mindy Project, and the teen comedy-drama Never Have I Ever. She created The Sex Lives of College Girls with fellow producer Justin Noble.
The trailer for the Max Original Comedy follows four college roommates as they arrive at New England’s prestigious Essex College. While attending the girls navigate freedom, college classes, and hormones in a manner that is both lovable and maddening. The poster released for the show displays the main cast, Reneé Rapp, Pauline Chalamet, Alyah Chanelle Scott, and Amrit Kaur in sassy, confident poses with the tagline “No Rules, No Regrets.” It matches the tone of the trailer well, encapsulating the spirit of the fun-loving girls.
The Sex Lives of College Girls is quite a literal title, as audiences get a sneak peek into the spicy troubles the girls face including caution tape dresses, approachable butts, sororities, and irresponsible hookups. “Young Stalin could get it,” states Kaur’s character Bela as she studies in the library, “Dude could’ve been on Riverdale.”
While the four girls take center stage in the teen comedy-drama, additional series regulars include Midori Francis, Gavin Leatherwood, Chris Meyer, Illia Isorelys Paulino, Lauren Spencer, and Renika Williams. The ten-episode series will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, November 18, followed by three new episodes on November 25 and December 2, and concluded with the final two episodes on December 9.
