Back in May, we reported that director David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane) had come on board to direct Shark Night 3D, even though a few days earlier he signed on to helm The Genesis Code with Hayden Christensen set to star.  It now looks like Shark Night 3D will indeed be Ellis’ next project with Sinqua Walls, Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz and Joel David Moore all signing on to star in the film. Hit the jump to find out the which roles each actor will play along with more details on the film.

Heat Vision breaks down each actor’s role in the film by telling us that:

  • Walls plays a Tulane University linebacker who plans to marry his college sweetheart (Diaz).
  • Carmack is the ex-boyfriend of the female lead, still uncast, who was scarred in a boating accident.
  • Moore provides comic relief as a socially awkward guy who fancies himself a young Brad Pitt.

Written by Jesse Studenberg and Will Hayes, the film will tell the story of “seven men and women who spend a weekend at a lake house in Louisiana's Gulf area. When their vacation quickly becomes a nightmare of hellish shark attacks, unheard of in freshwater lakes, they soon discover that the sharks are part of a sick, greedy plan on the part of several locals.”

Shark Night 3D plans to start filming in September in Louisiana.
