Each new look at Shazam! has offered up just a bit of unique footage from the upcoming DC Comics film, and the trailer cut exclusively for China is no different. There's some fantastic new banter between Zachary Levi's aged-up hero and Mark Strong's straight-man villain Doctor Sivana, but the real kicker is the shout-out to Warner Bros.' biggest comic book cash-cow, Aquaman. (Not a surprise, either. Aquaman nabbed a huge $298 million in China.)

One of the more interesting aspects of Shazam! overall is the way it looks to be handling DC's most iconic superheroes; where earlier films like Zack Snyder's Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice treated its title heroes almost like gods, Shazam! makes them look like celebrities. There's a shot of a kid playing with Batman and Superman dolls while humming the John Williams theme from the 1978 Superman movie. This raises...far more questions than answers, so until Shazam! premieres I'm going to assume Superman was a documentary and Clark Kent somehow aged from Christopher Reeve into Henry Cavill between 1978 and 2013.

Check out the trailer below. Shazam! hits theaters on April 5.

Here's the official synopsis for Shazam!:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
