Are you ready to step into the shoes of the most brilliant, eccentric and charismatic detective? Announced back in May, Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One serves as a prologue to the story of this younger version of the iconic Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s character and this upcoming beginning of the saga has just gotten its official gameplay trailer. The trailer introduces us to an extremely varied cast of characters each with a different relationship with the detective. Set in the 19th century like the original stories, the game's adventure starts on the island of Cordona, where Sherlock must investigate the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death. In the trailer, we can see that this travel back home brings back childhood memories which Sherlock recounts: “The governor gave his speech there. I was extremely irritated by his lies. I shouted my opinions very loudly for everyone to hear. Mycroft was angry but calm. Led me away from the stage.”

This two-minute trailer certainly gives us a tease to the game’s exploration of its original never-heard-of backstory of the world-famous detective. This is the story of the young man before he became a crime-solving legend.
