Filmmaker Denis Villeneuve’s (Prisoners) thriller Sicario is undoubtedly one of the best films of 2015. It’s a smart, taut film that will not only leave you on the edge of your seat as Villeneuve masterfully manages tension throughout, but will also give you plenty to think about on a number of levels. Which is why we here at Collider are happy to exclusively debut a featurette from the Blu-ray release of the movie which highlights Benicio Del Toro’s mysterious character.

The story revolves around a talented yet vulnerable FBI agent (played with immaculate subtlety by Emily Blunt) who is roped into a shady government operation involving drug cartels and the Mexican border. Again, this is a film that works on many levels, but at its foundation is supremely captivating. In this featurette, Del Toro and Villeneuve explain the meaning behind the film’s title and how it relates to Del Toro’s character, whom Villeneuve describes as “the soul of the movie.”

Check out the featurette below, and check out Sicario on Digital HD starting December 22nd or on Blu-ray and DVD on January 5, 2016. As an added bonus, you get some positively stunning cinematography from Roger Deakins.
