The cast of characters of HBO's Silicon Valley are back for more technobabble and awkward interactions in the Golden Globes-nominated series' fifth season. As the newly revealed trailer and key art show, the Pied Piper gang is still having some issues connecting, whether it's with each other, their new tech team, or with other humans in general. Oh and it looks like they'll have some four-legged friends to contend with this season as well, which reveals a curious phobia for one of the team members.

If you're unfamiliar with Silicon Valley, the series takes a comic look at the modern-day epicenter of the high-tech gold rush, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. A collaboration between Mike Judge and Alec Berg, this season's cast includes Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Suzanne Cryer and Jimmy O. Yang. The fifth season of Silicon Valley will return to HBO on Sunday, March 25th at 10:00pm ET/PT.

The Pied Piper gang returns March 25 at 10pm on HBO.

While I'm a big fan of the show when it balances cutting-edge tech ideas with the cast's spot-on, never-ending awkwardness, this trailer seems to suggest that they're focusing much more on the latter this season. Sure, it's just a trailer, and past seasons have shown that there's at least one killer episode (and app) that ties everything together in a technological sense, but awkwardness for awkwardness' sake wears out its welcome when the antisocial bunch aren't allowed to grow as individuals.

On the other hand, the good news is that Jared promises to be as weird as ever, and Dinesh and Gilfoyle's frenemy status remains firmly rooted in antagonistic comedy, just as Richard's anxiety threatens to do him in once and for all. In other words, expect more of the same for Silicon Valley this season.
