This weekend is Father’s Day, and the folks at Gramercy Pictures—a new genre arm under Focus Features—have taken the opportunity to tie the holiday into the upcoming horror sequel Sinister 2 in creepy fashion. Directed by Ciarán Foy (Citadel), the follow-up revolves around a new family moving into a rural house marked for death, as the spirit of Bughuul continues his reign of terror. This Father’s Day clip offers a brief new look at the film that serves as a healthy reminder that there’s a possibility—however slight—that your children might whack you over the head with a large hammer.

Check out the new clip below, and click here to watch the film’s trailer. Written by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, the film stars James Ransone, Shannyn Sossamon, Lea Coco, and Robert and Dartanian Sloan. Sinister 2 opens in theaters on August 21st.

Here’s the official synopsis for Sinister 2:

The sequel to the 2012 sleeper hit horror movie. In the aftermath of the shocking events in “Sinister,” a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon of “Wayward Pines”) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life brothers Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Bughuul continues to spread with frightening intensity.
