I've been rather obsessed with Sinister ever since it hit theaters back in October 2012. In fact, the film made me so uneasy, I had second thoughts about hanging the poster in my living room because it had an image of Buhguul on it. (Obviously I did it anyway.) A big part of the reason Buhguul freaked me out more than most horror movie villains is because you always feel his presence, but barely see him. He's insanely malicious and you never knew when or where he'll pop up, and that made Sinister especially tense from start to finish.

Focus Features just unveiled the very first Sinister 2 trailer and it features Buhguul - a lot of Buhguul. Again, as a big sucker for the first film I'm beyond psyched that we're getting more, but I'm also a little concerned that director Ciaran Foy’s (Citadel) might be taking things a bit too far. However, there's still a creepy quality to the material that's very reminiscent of the original and it's exciting to see James Ransone picking up where Ellison (Ethan Hawke) left off as well.

You can check out the first Sinister 2 trailer and poster for yourself below. The film also stars Shannyn Sossamon, Robert and Dartanian Sloan, and hits theaters on August 21st.

Here’s the official synopsis for Sinister 2:

The sequel to the 2012 sleeper hit horror movie. In the aftermath of the shocking events in “Sinister,” a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon of “Wayward Pines”) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Bughuul continues to spread with frightening intensity.
