Though most can agree that this summer’s crop of movies has been surprisingly high in quality, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a rather noticeable blemish.  The film isn’t a total disappointment, as once again Marc Webb excels at the intimate character-centric moments and the performances by Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are spot-on, but the rest of the movie is a hodge-podge of messy set pieces and incongruous, over-the-top villain portrayals.  The film is coming to home video soon, and Sony is doing everything it can to ensure that the Blu-ray is a lucrative endeavor.  Amazing Spider-Man 2’s relatively disappointing box office led to a rethinking of Sony’s master plan when it came to the film franchise, and instead of moving straight into a sequel, the studio is putting The Sinister Six in first position.

As part of the exclusive bonus content on the Spidey Blu-ray at Target, fans will get a look into the plans behind setting up the Sinister Six film in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and a short teaser of footage from the featurette has landed online.  Hit the jump to take a look.  The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be available in stores on Blu-ray and DVD starting August 19th.  Click here to pre-order on Amazon.

In this short video teaser of the Target exclusive featurette, we see mostly plans that were excised from the finished film, such as the disembodied head of Norman Osborn.  It’s unclear how heavily this featurette will go into what was supposed to show up in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but for curiosity’s sake I hope we get to see those deleted scenes and/or the designs for some of the Sinister Six characters.  If you want to see this featurette, however, it looks like you’ll have to pick up the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Blu-ray at Target, as the Sinister Six tease only appears on a bonus disc that’s exclusive to that retailer.
