Open Roads has released the first trailer for Sleepless, the American remake of the French action hit Sleepless Night, starring Jamie Foxx, Michelle Monaghan, and Gabrielle Union. The movie follows Foxx's hero, an undercover police officer, as he attempts to hunt down the people who have kidnapped his son, following a botched robbery.

The film is directed by Baran bo Odar, who is best known for directing the eerie, excellent Swiss crime thriller The Silence. It's interesting to see Foxx playing the badass hero in this "night of violence" thriller given his incredible performance in Michael Mann's Collateral as the, well, reluctant hero, and Scoot McNairy is always doing something interesting, so hopefully he can bring something different to the criminal villain cliche.

Foxx, Monaghan, and Union co-star alongside Dermot Mulroney, Kimberly Battista, and rap icon T.I., who we last saw on the TV remake of Roots. The script is courtesy of Andrea Berloff of Straight Outta Compton and the recent Mel Gibson vehicle Blood Father. The action-thriller is currently scheduled to see release on February 24th, 2017.
