NBC has announced the next three hosts of Saturday Night Live for the month of December, and they’re mighty promising.  James Franco will kick things off on December 6th with his third appearance as host, accompanied by musical guest Nicki Minaj.  Franco is well-versed in SNL lore having directed the incredibly fascinating documentary Saturday Night, which provided a first-ever behind-the-scenes look at the weeklong process of making an episode.  The actor will of course be promoting his upcoming comedy The Interview in which he stars opposite Seth Rogen, so a Rogen cameo on the episode seems likely.  More after the jump.

After Franco’s SNL appearance, Martin Freeman will make his hosting debut on December 13th in anticipation of the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and accompanied by musical guest Charli XCX.  Closing out the month just before the holidays, Amy Adams will host SNL for the second time on December 17th with musical guest One Direction (*screams wildly*), who make their third appearance on the show.  Adams co-stars alongside Christoph Waltz in director Tim Burton’s drama Big Eyes, which opens in theaters on Christmas Day.

That’s quite a lineup of hosts for next month (especially Martin, who’s really funny), and as the show’s fresh-faced cast is finally starting to settle into a groove, the trio will hopefully make for three solid episodes.
