If you care to dig into the archives with me, you might remember a film called Solace. The movie starred Anthony Hopkins as a former doctor with psychic abilities who’s called into aid the FBI in stopping a serial killer (played by Colin Farrell) who also has psychic powers. The film also starred Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Abbie Cornish as FBI agents, and has sat on a shelf for about two years now.

Today, the first Solace trailer has gone online, although it’s for the French release, which will go under the title “Premonitions”. After watching the trailer, you can understand why this is a movie that would gather dust, and it’s a bit odd that it got such high-caliber talent for such a corny premise. The movie still doesn’t have a U.S. release (it was supposed to be distributed by Relativity Media, but now that they’ve gone bankrupt, we’ll see if someone else picks it up), and I expect it will stumble out on VOD when it finally does make it stateside.

Check out the Solace trailer below along with some images and posters via The Film Stage. The movie opens in France on September 9th.
