The motion graphics team at the Perception studio have been involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man 2, where the company was recruited to create a small design element that ballooned into 125 shots including the design of Tony Stark's digital brand and gadgetry that were seen throughout the movie. Perception's work set the tone for graphics in future Marvel films, including Captain America: Civil War which hit theaters earlier this year.

Perception's website today has revealed their conceptual designs for a "Spidey-Signal" to be seen as one of the final post-credit moments of the film. The company's goal in creating this imagery was to develop something that could be built upon in later features, including Marvel's upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming. This approach offers clues as to what we might be seeing more of from the graphical sense in Spider-Man's cinematic future. As Perception notes on their website, each design originated as flat artwork before being unlocked into something much more.

"The Perception team can't wait to see where the Spidey-signal is projected next," reads the words on Perception's website. You can take a look at a case study of the Spidey-signal graphics here.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will star actors Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Robert Downey Jr. and Donald Glover and is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 7, 2017. It will be the first solo Spider-Man film to come exclusively from Marvel Studios with Holland as the titular wall-crawler as he battles Michael Keaton's Vulture. Captain America: Civil War is already available on Blu-ray and DVD formats if you would like to see the Spidey-signal sequence in action during the closing credits.
