Paramount has released two new action-heavy images from Star Trek Into Darkness featuring Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, and Chris Pine. When I see Saldana like this---a great actress and gorgeous woman with an undeniable physical presence who stars in two of the moment's biggest franchises---I feel like she should be an even bigger star. Like, Highest Paid Actress in Hollywood big*. Let's make that happen when Star Trek Into Darkness opens on May 17.
Additionally, we have video from the Star Trek light show that sent London into darkness for Earth Hour, a WWF event that turned out the lights in cities around the world to raise awareness about climate change. Regardless of your environmental conscience, it is cool to see the Star Trek logo light up the sky (powered by green energy, of course). Check out the images and video after the jump.
The new images come from Empire, who promise a lot more Trek content in the May issue that drops March 28, so expect more goods soon.
Here's the Earth Hour video:
Official synopsis:
In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

*Pine and Quinto are also great, but their level of fame seems about right, with some hesitation about what exactly Quinto is doing on American Horror Story.
