Steve’s currently checking out a slew of footage from upcoming studio releases at CinemaCon 2012 in Las Vegas, and last night he shared a write-up and video blog for the Paramount and DreamWorks Animation panel.  In between all the footage that was shown at the panel, J.J. Abrams popped up onscreen from the set of the Star Trek sequel and he was sporting a nifty hat created specifically for the production.  Steve was quite taken with the headwear, and someone from the production saw his tweet and sent over an image of said hat.  It’s a simple design but it gets the “Star Trek 2” message across loud and clear.Hit the jump to check out the image.  The film is set to open on May 17th, 2013.
