Paramount has released the final Star Trek Beyond trailer online. In the latest film, the Enterprise is a few years into its five-year mission when a mysterious force attacks and the crew must survive on an unknown planet filled with its own conflict.

You don’t really get that from this new trailer. In fact, most of what we see in this trailer we’ve already seen in past trailers, including the central character conflict, which is Kirk trying to reconcile how to be his own man and step out from beneath his father’s shadow. I’m hoping that the other characters have interesting arcs as well in this movie as opposed to just being present because the story demands that the Trek crew be present in full.

This trailer also treats us to Rihanna’s new song “Sledgehammer”, which doesn’t really work. It’s a little too modern, and with Trek you want something classic, especially since the release of this film is being timed with the original series’ 50th anniversary.

Check out the new Star Trek Beyond trailer below. The film opens July 22nd and stars Idris Elba, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, and Karl Urban.

Here’s the official synopsis for Star Trek Beyond:

"Star Trek Beyond," the highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, created by Gene Roddenberry and reintroduced by J.J. Abrams in 2009, returns with director Justin Lin (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise) at the helm of this epic voyage of the U.S.S. Enterprise and her intrepid crew. In “Beyond," the Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.
