The marketing campaign for J.J. Abrams’ highly anticipated sequel Star Trek Into Darkness is kicking off in a big way.  The first poster was released yesterday, and now star Simon Pegg has revealed via his Twitter that the first trailer for Into Darkness will be hitting the interwebs this coming Thursday, December 6th.  It was previously announced that a trailer for the film will be attached to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, while a 9-minute preview is set to play in front of IMAX screenings of The Hobbit.The folks over at Trek Movie report that the trailer hitting this Thursday is an online-only exclusive teaser that runs one minute long, while the trailer attached to The Hobbit will be a full trailer with a running time of over 2 minutes.  In short, there will soon be plenty of Star Trek goodness to go around.  Star Trek Into Darkness opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX on May 17, 2013.
