CBS revealed at its New York upfronts that its new Star Trek series, in which Patrick Stewart will reprise his Next Generation Jean-Luc Picard role, will officially be titled Star Trek: Picard. A+ for accuracy! The network also revealed a look at the series' official logo.

Star Trek Into Darkness writer Alex Kurtzman is heading up production as showrunner. Hanelle Culpepper (Star Trek: Discovery) will direct the pilot and second episode, marking the first time a woman launched a Star Trek series in the franchise's 53-year history. Not a ton is out there yet about the show's plot, other than the fact it concerns the aftermath of the destruction of the planet Romulus, which we saw in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek.

When Stewart first announced his return to the role at "Star Trek: Las Vegas", here's what he had to say:

“During these past years, it has been humbling to hear many stories about how The Next Generation brought people comfort, saw them through difficult periods in their lives or how the example of Jean-Luc inspired so many to follow in his footsteps, pursuing science, exploration and leadership. I feel I’m ready to return to him for the same reason — to research and experience what comforting and reforming light he might shine on these often very dark times. I look forward to working with our brilliant creative team as we endeavor to bring a fresh, unexpected and pertinent story to life once more.”

Check out the reveal of the official title and logo below. Star Trek: Picard also stars Harry Treadaway, Allison Pill, and Santiago Cabrera.

Kate Aurthur of Buzzfeed News also grabbed an image from the still-unreleased teaser trailer and it confirms that, yes, Patrick Stewart still looks startlingly fantastic for his age.
