LucasArts had been stuck in a rut for years, but there was hope when it came to the video game Star Wars 1313.  The action game was set beneath the shiny upper levels of Coruscant, and take players to a place they had rarely seen before in the Star Wars world.  The story would have focused on Boba Fett (originally, it was going to be a new character, but George Lucas stepped in and wanted the fan-favorite), but as one source told Kotaku, "They ended up with movie tech that wouldn't fit in a game, and game tech that wouldn't fit in a movie.  1313 was always in danger of not being made."  Star Wars 1313 will always exist as a cool concept, but any hope of it moving forward died when Disney purchased Lucasfilm, and shut down LucasArts this past April.

Concept artist Gustavo Mendonca recently posted some of his work on the game on his website.  It will make you kind of sad because Star Wars 1313 could have been awesome.
