Last week's installment of video game news was trailer-heavy in the wake of Gamescom; this week is the calm before the storm of PAX Prime.  We've still got some interesting content to share with you, including a behind-the-scenes look at the dark bounty hunter game, Star Wars 1313, which the developers call "Star Wars Hell." (Definitely at the other end of the spectrum from the recently announced Star Wars: Detours.)  XBox Live users might be happy to hear that the free-to-play game Happy Wars will be available this fall with a preview ready by PAX Prime.  Also, check out Nintendo's world record plans to celebrate Kirby's 20th birthday!  Hit the jump for all that and more.Let's kick things off on the dark side of the Force with a behind-the-scenes look at Star Wars 1313 from the developers themselves, after the synopsis (from G4TV):

Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.

If you haven't seen the trailer for the game, you can check it out here.  Now for a bit of news about a different kind of "wars."  Happy Wars is a huge multiplayer action game that can accommodate up to 30 players at a time.  Those of you who have an XBox Gold account can play for nothing, with an option to buy various upgrades in the Item Shop.  Check out the game's synopsis and trailer below (via G4TV):

Happy Wars is a large-scale multiplayer action game that can be enjoyed by up to 30 players in online battle. With an Xbox LIVE Gold Membership, the game can be downloaded for free. Join with players from around the world in exciting castle siege and magic spell battle action for madcap free-for-all battles in fantasy world settings.

Buy lavishly rendered items at the Item Shop etc. for your character to flaunt your originality on the field of valor.

A playable preview of Happy Wars should be available at the Microsoft booth when the gaming convention, PAX Prime, comes to Seattle next weekend.  The con will bring the latest and greatest in the world of console, handheld, PC and tabletop games to the Washington State Convention Center.  For fans of indie gamers, check out the PAX 10 for a selection of the best games the indie-stry has to offer!

If you happen to be going to PAX, you might get the chance to set a world record.  As Kotaku reports, Nintendo plans to celebrate Kirby's 20th birthday with 304 of their closest friends all blowing chewing gum bubbles at the same time. This will apparently set a Guinness record (Really? At only 304?).  Maybe Nintendo has plans to break their own record after they establish a Facebook-like social network meant to unite their unique gamers.  Check out Kotaku for the full story and be sure to tune in next week when we'll have a more extensive recap on the week in video game news, including all the happenings from PAX Prime!
