Anime is preposterous, and it can be absurd if a delightfully amusing way.  It features broad characters, big melodrama, and outrageous action.  I'm surprised it's taken so long for someone to mash it up with Star Wars.  Thankfully, Nacho Punch has risen to the task, and taken the original trilogy into the world of giant robots and action lines.  There's also a particular transformation that got a big laugh out of me.
