After suffering through astoundingly mediocre professional football last night (if it’s possible for an entire division to go 8-8, the NFC East will do it), fans were treated to the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer and filled with emotions.

And it wasn’t just fans. Stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega also watched the trailer last night, and they had someone on hand to share their reaction to the world.

First up, Boyega liked what he saw so much that it launched him over the back of his sofa:

What moment was it? Was it the climax of the trailer? Was it when his character, Finn [Last Name Conspicuously Absent] breaks out a lightsaber to fight Kylo Ren (Adam Driver)? So many moments to choose from. For his co-star, Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, the character featured most prominently on the poster and the one who leads off the trailer, the trailer brought her to tears. Now she’s obligated to cry when she sees the full film. You can’t cry at the trailer for the film you’re in, and not cry at the full movie:

These moments, while they also help sell the film, are a nice reminder that even when stars are filming they only have a small look at a much bigger picture. They knew their scenes and they knew their sets, but they’re getting a first look at the completed film with the rest of us.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18th and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendolyn Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, and Max Von Sydow. Kathleen Kennedy, Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Abrams & Lawrence Kasdan and Michael Arndt.
