Shortly after wrapping principal photography, Lucasfilm revealed the official Star Wars: Episode VII title, Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Without getting into spoiler territory, it does line up with some of the rumors in circulation and it also just makes sense. It's been 10 years since our last Star Wars film and The Force Awakens does sell this one as a powerful return. Plus, it certainly doesn't hurt that it's also just a nice straightforward and easy-to-spell title, too.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is due in theaters on December 18, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Harrison Ford, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie and more.
