While we’re probably still a ways off from knowing the official title for Star Wars: Episode VIII, we at least now know the working title for the film, and it’s so charming I almost wish it were the final title. For those who don’t know, the working title is created to help keep the production a secret so that people who are near the set just go about their business. It’s a generic title that’s posted near film sets so that those in the know will go on, but those who aren’t will move along (of course, with the Internet, fans now know these production titles anyway, so it’s a slightly outdated convention).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens was titled Foodles during its production, and now thanks to Carrie Fisher’s Twitter [via CS], we have the working title for Episode VIII:

Space Bear! That’s pretty great. It probably has absolutely no relevance to the plot unless Chewbacca is now the star of the franchise, but it’s still a fun bit of trivia. This isn’t the first we’ve heard of “Space Bear”. The title was previously reported back in 2014 by Jedi News as “Space Bear Industries” and confirmed by The Independent last month. Again, this title does no one any good in getting us closer to the film’s real title or any details about the plot, but it’s a nice trivia item to have.

Also, you get to see Fisher’s adorable dog, Gary, so there’s no harm in that either.

Star Wars: Episode VIII opens December 15, 2017. The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.
