Will Yoda Appear in Episode VIII

Jedi Council is packed with a ton of news today but the biggest story making the rounds is yet another rumor surfacing about the appearance of Yoda in Episode VIII. A while back a report mentioned that Frank Oz had reported to the set of Episode VIII but it was not confirmed (or denied) that he had a part in the movie. Now, a Reddit User details their experience at Star Wars Celebration Europe, saying that one of the people at the Yoda Exhibit confirmed that another one of their puppets had to report to the set for the movie. This is only hearsay now, but it does make sense - both in story and if you compare some of the reports that had Frank Oz in Ireland during the filming of Episode VIII as well as a report that mentioned a set was built to accommodate said puppet. The Council break this news down, with many hoping to see their favorite green Jedi make an appearance.

Did Mark Hamill Confirm He'll Live Through Episode VIII?

More Episode VIII news that could set the stage for Episode IX - Mark Hamill took to social media in order to shave off his beard as he prepares for his next project. What was interesting, however, is what he said. Hamill told his audience how happy he was to be losing the Jedi Beard and won't miss it - until Episode IX that is... Did Hamill just confirm that his Luke Skywalker character will live to fight another day in Episode IX? Not so fast, says the crew - what about Force Ghosts? Luke could become one with the Force in Episode VIII and that would mean his beard would be there for a possible Force Ghost appearance in Episode IX. And so, the Council speculate on what it could all mean moving forward after Episode VIII.

Ian McDiarmid Confirms No Emperor In Rogue One

Then it's on to some news regarding Rogue One with Ian McDiarmid confirming his Emperor character will not be featured in Rogue One. Many have wondered and speculated (because it would make sense) that his character might appear, either on a hologram, or in passing, in the first Star Wars Story. But alas, the Emperor has bigger fish to fry while the events of Rogue One unfold.

Riz Ahmed Talks Rogue One

Actor Riz Ahmed, who will be playing Bodhi Rook in the upcoming Rogue One, was on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert promoting his HBO drama The Night Of.  Colbert, who is a big Star Wars fan, naturally took the opportunity to ask him if there was anything at all that he could tell us about the upcoming Star Wars film. Although he was not very forthcoming with any new information about the movie, he did describe the intensity of the filming process, where he had bladder issues that got considerably worse as the shoots went on. He did describe the movie a bit though, using 'Boots on the Ground' to describe the war aspect of the film.
