Wonder Woman may not have panned out for Michelle MacLaren, but there are still loads of high profile projects out there in need of directors and apparently she just took a meeting for one of them - the second Star Wars anthology film.

During Meet the Movie Press, The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider said the following:

“I found out a director who took a meeting on it. Very interesting name. Are you ready? Michelle MacLaren.”

Back in April, MacLaren left Wonder Woman due to “creative differences.” She was replaced by Patty Jenkins (Monster). Soon thereafter, it was reported that Josh Trank left the second Star Wars anthology film. There was a rumor that Jon Favreau and Matthew Vaughn were circling the project, but on Meet the Movie Press, Schmoes Know Editor-in-Chief Mark E. Reilly said that Vaughn taking the spot is “not gonna happen.”

Does that mean MacLaren has a good shot at snagging the gig? Possibly, but directors take meetings all the time. Had Sneider said that MacLaren was in “early talks” to direct the Star Wars film, that would have been a different story. Meetings mean there’s potential and I’m eager to see MacLaren make her feature debut, but merely taking a meeting certainly doesn’t mean you should get your hopes up that she’ll be doing it with a Star Wars film.

The second Star Wars anthology film is expected to hit theaters in 2018. A recent rumor claims that it's about the conflict between Han Solo and Boba Fett. What do you think? Would you like to see MacLaren at the helm?
