We all have our favorite Star Wars movie. While I think The Empire Strikes Back is a masterpiece and have seen it more times than I can count, I usually rank Star Wars higher on my list because without Episode IV, we’d never have the sequel. However, while I go back and forth between Empire and Star Wars as my favorite film, many fans rank Return of the Jedi as their favorite, because it was the first movie they saw in a theater and every kid wanted an Ewok for a best friend.
The fact is there is no wrong answer about which Star Wars movie is your favorite—unless you pick Episode I: The Phantom Menace. I don’t care what your reasons are, Episode I should not be an option.
When I sat down with John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie and director J.J. Abrams at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens press junket, I asked each of them to rank the Star Wars movies.
Check out what they had to say below.
