On this episode of Collider Star Wars: Rebels Recap Show, hosts Kristian Harloff, David Griffin and John Rocha discuss what they enjoyed most about episodes 19 and 20, titled “Twilight of the Apprentice Parts 1 & 2.”
The hosts discuss all things Star Wars: Rebels, and recap the two-part finale of Star Wars: Rebels Season 2, asking, Where will the show go? What fate do our heroes have? There is so much to love in the two-part season 2 finale that it’s difficult to know where to begin.
Every minute from “Twilight of the Apprentice” is fantastic. Each new discovery keeps the viewer guessing and the suspense is one of the key components in what made this a fantastic hour of television. From the very beginning, we know that our heroes are in trouble as they embark on a mission to discover the secrets of the Inquisitors and their Sith Lord masters.
There are a lot of moving pieces when it comes to the plot, with several varying motivations dictating what each character will do at any given moment. Another aspect of the finale that made it so special was how the story helped further our heroes’ arcs, as well as doing a great job at setting up events that will unfold in Season 3. The largest of these events surrounds our young padawan, Ezra Bridger.
His encounter with Maul and the Sith Holocron will undoubtedly change him, but how is something we’ll have to wait and see. Only a Sith, or someone who understands them could open such a device and Ezra seemed to do it with little difficulty. Ahsoka too has her own path she needs to walk after facing off against her old master in epic fashion. There is more to discuss about this thrilling episode, so be sure to check out our recap show in the video above.
