First of all, a little background for the uninitiated: Arrow star Stephen Amell is a huge fan of the WWE, and has basically been begging them to let him participate in some form for awhile now. His wish is their command, it seems, as the WWE personality Stardust started a very public Twitter feud with Amell, which resulted in the actor appearing on the sidelines of Monday Night Raw the other week (which I chronicled here).

All of this (after Stardust taunted Amell and it led to a short scuffle in the ring), is culminating in Amell appearing in the WWE’s SummerSlam event Sunday night, where he will settle the score! (Alongside Adrian Neville, and against King Barrett on Stardust’s side).

One of the biggest questions I’ve had about Amell appearing on SummerSlam is weather or not he will be in costume as the Green Arrow. They have been using the name Green Arrow, and of course, the WWE is all about the spectacle. But it’s surprising that the CW allowed Amell to do this in the midst of filming Arrow in the first place, and it’s hugely surprising that they’re letting him take the suit. But hey, cross-promotion?

Amell confirmed that he will at least be bringing the suit (whether or not he wears it, I don’t know) via a video from his Facebook page. What we do know for sure is that he’s channeling Christopher Walken really well, and that he loves his socks. But will Diggle (David Ramsay) show up in his corner? Will we get a full flashback story complete with hideous wig? SummerSlam, which will be hosted by Jon Stewart (yes that Jon Stewart), airs Sunday night on PPV, and we will have a full recap for you Monday morning. Do not fail this city, Amell.
